The company CFE QATAR was unable to construct the breakwater armor layer. The company IDMer, now CLAS, intervened on an emergency basis.
CFE QATAR was using the POSIBLOC™ system. Placement was being rejected and the construction site was exposed to delay penalties. Approximately 40,000 ACCROPODE™ units had to be installed… a challenge that our experts successfully took on.
ACCROPODE™ is a registered trademark owned by ARTELIA, and POSIBLOC™ is a registered trademark owned by MESURIS; these companies are in no way affiliated with CLAS.
On this project, the independence of CLAS from license and equipment vendors enabled our experts to completely modify the site procedures and turn the situation around by using divers.

The mission entrusted to CLAS
Train the installation teams in safety and in the ACCROPODE™ technique.
Supervise the placement of the units,
Improve installation quality,
Achieve high production,
Testimonial from the company CFE QATAR
I hereby confirm that IDMer worked for CFE Qatar on the Ras Laffan Port Extension Project in Qatar, from May 2008 to February 2009.
The armor layer of the South breakwater consisted of:
23,400 Accropode™ units of 4 m³
1,750 Accropode™ units of 5 m³
On the offshore breakwater:
5,300 Accropode™ units of 3 m³
6,600 Accropode™ units of 4 m³
1,400 Accropode™ units of 5 m³
During this period, IDMer trained, guided, supervised, and inspected the works.
The main mission of IDMer was to optimize the quality and the installation rate of the Accropode™ units.
CFE Qatar has no hesitation in recommending IDMer for future missions similar to those carried out as part of the Ras Laffan Port Extension Project.
