Testimonial – Bouygues, Port-La-Nouvelle Port (France)

Bouygues urgently called on CLAS to carry out the installation of concrete armour units.

The offshore breakwater had been severely damaged three times by winter storms and, despite the procedures and equipment deployed, including POSIBLOC™, multibeam sonar and digital twin tools, the works were not progressing as expected. After 18 months of sustained efforts, the offshore breakwater remained highly exposed and a new winter season was approaching. Bouygues therefore called in a full CLAS team on an urgent basis to carry out the installation of ACCROPODE™ II units ranging from 9 to 14 m³.

Testimonial from Bouygues

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I, the undersigned, Quentin YVARD, Deputy Project Director for the Port-La-Nouvelle port extension project, hereby certify that CLAS, represented by its Managing Director Mr Éric SKIERNIEWSKI, was entrusted with the installation of 12 m³ and 14 m³ ACCROPODE™ II units on the final head of the offshore breakwater, prior to the onset of winter storms. This scope of work was extended to include the installation of 9 m³ ACCROPODE™ II units in the underwater section down to +2.5 m, directly exposed to heavy wave action and not yet installed on the seaward side, on the same structure, including the temporary breakwater head.

I hereby certify that CLAS intervened from 2 August to 7 October 2021 and successfully installed more than 1,000 ACCROPODE™ II units during this period, none of which required any rework or dismantling following inspection.

Bouygues Travaux Publics unreservedly recommends CLAS for assignments related to breakwater construction involving concrete armour units.
