On Das Island in Abu Dhabi, the company SIXCO called on IDMer, the parent company of CLAS, for the rehabilitation of the armor layer of the new breakwater.
The placement and control of the X-bloc® units had been carried out solely using the ECHOSCOPE®. From the very first storm, significant damage appeared. Our experts carried out an audit of the construction site and of the structure.
X-bloc® is a registered trademark owned by DMC, and ECHOSCOPE® is a registered trademark owned by CODA OCTOPUS. These companies are in no way affiliated with CLAS. The independence of CLAS from these companies was a determining factor in the choice of CLAS to arbitrate the dispute between the contractor and the oil company ADNOC.

The mission entrusted to CLAS

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
We hereby confirm that IDMer worked on the Das Island (UAE) project for SIXCO for the repair works, installation, and diving inspection of X-bloc™ units.
Number of X-bloc™ units: 30,000 units
Duration: 5 months
IDMer was responsible for teaching and training the personnel and divers. They also carried out the certification of the works in accordance with the quality procedures.
The assistance of IDMer made it possible to find acceptable solutions for installation, in the interest of SIXCO, DMC, and ADNOC.
With the assistance of IDMer, the entire project was approved by Delta Marine Consultants (DMC) and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
SIXCO recommends IDMer for its assistance in construction works and quality certification of X-bloc™ projects in particular, and of single-layer concrete armor unit projects in general.
