The project
YEAR: 2009–2010
PROJECT: Khalifa Port
COMPANY: Archirodon
CLIENT: Abu Dhabi Ports Company

Background
The Khalifa Port port development project represented one of the largest maritime construction projects in the Gulf region. Archirodon was facing significant delay penalties and therefore called upon IDMer, now operating as CLAS, to provide comprehensive technical assistance for the installation of ACCROPODE™ units, including quality certification covering all the structures.
ACCROPODE™ is a registered trademark owned by the ARTELIA group, which is in no way affiliated with CLAS.
CLAS intervened on this project in full independence, making it possible to certify the structures as CLASS A.
The certification file was included in the as-built documentation (DOE) by Abu Dhabi Ports Company.
Key figures
- 220,000 ACCROPODE™ units ranging from 0.8 to 2 m³
Average production rate: 8 units/hour

Role of CLAS
The mission entrusted to IDMer, now operating as CLAS, was particularly comprehensive and included:
Training and supervising the installation teams,
Achieving the quality and production objectives set by the Client,
Implementing and carrying out construction quality certification.
This integrated approach made it possible to ensure continuous quality control up to acceptance without reservations.
Independence from the licence seller was a key factor in the success of the certification process.

Result
The objectives set were exceeded, and the structures were certified CLASS A.
