Background

The Azalaï Hotel in Dakar chose the BS1 block for protection against wave action, together with comprehensive CLAS assistance and CLASS A certification.

Role of CLAS

  • Provide on-demand assistance during the technical solution design phase,

  • Prepare installation layouts for BS1 artificial armour units,

  • Ensure follow-up of personnel safety training,

  • Provide full-time assistance during the construction phase,

  • Achieve or exceed the production objectives,

  • Achieve the quality objectives,

  • Optimise construction costs,

  • Prepare the quality certification file for submission to the Engineer in charge of design and construction supervision and to the Client.

Result

The structure was delivered on schedule, without reservations at acceptance.
The breakwater was certified CLASS A, and the certification file was included in the as-built documentation (DOE).
