A Project Efficiently Completed with Technical Assistance from CLAS
The completion of the reconstruction of the Genoese breakwater in Bastia marks a new stage in the modernisation of the port.
CLAS supported the BUESA–NATALI consortium by providing comprehensive technical assistance and quality certification throughout the project.

CLAS Technical Assistance and Supervision
A CLAS consultant was mobilized on a full-time basis on site in order to ensure:
training of personnel in the installation of ACCROPODE™ II armour units;
technical support during installation phases;
quality monitoring of the underlayer, toe protection and armour layer;
optimization of production;
and preparation of the quality-of-execution certification file.
(ACCROPODE™ is a registered trademark owned by the ARTELIA Group and marketed by Concrete Layer Innovations (CLI).
These companies are in no way affiliated with CLAS.
CLAS is an independent company providing technical assistance, safety training and quality certification services for maritime breakwaters using highly interlocking single-layer artificial concrete blocks.)
Results and CLAS Certification
The Môle Génois breakwater obtained the CLAS certification – Class A Breakwater, confirming that its construction complies with good engineering practice as defined in the CETMEF Rock Armour Guide, the applicable technical standards, and the project technical specifications (CCTP).
This CLAS certification was incorporated into the As-Built Documentation (DOE) by the Engineer, ARTELIA.
