BOUYGUES called on CLAS to install the 14 m3, 12 m3 and 9 m3 ACCROPODE™II on the PORT LA NOUVELLE breakwater. Destroyed several times by winter storms, this difficult-to-access and highly exposed dike required rapid installation of the ACCROPODE™II armour blocks and the highest level of construction quality. We installed more than 1000 ACCROPODE™II in two months, without interrupting the work in progress. No ACCROPODE™II required dismantling at the end of our work.

The POSIBLOCTM system, which had not achieved the expected objectives and prevented significant damage to the structure in winter, was dismantled from the machines.

 

 

CLAS has implemented a team of seasoned inspectors, who intervened by diving. The CLAS company is certified for hyperbaric work.

    

 

At the end of this project, BOUYGUES issued the following comment:

I, the undersigned, Quentin YVARD, Deputy Project Director of the Port-LaNouvelle port extension project, hereby certify that the company CLAS, represented by its manager Mr. SKIERNEWSKI Eric, was given the mission to install the 12 m3 and 14 m3 ACCROPODE™II on the final head of the fairground dike, before the occurrence of the winter storms. This mission was extended to the installation of the 9 m3 ACCROPODE™II partly underwater up to + 2.5 meters, directly exposed to strong swells and not yet installed on the sea side, on this same structure, including the temporary head.
I hereby certify that the company CLAS intervened from August 2 to October 7, 2021 and correctly installed more than 1000 ACCROPODE™II within this period, which did not require any rework or dismantling after their inspection. BOUYGUES TP recommends without hesitation, CLAS for missions related to the construction of dikes using artificial concrete blocks.

Due to the high production performance and the impeccable quality of the work carried out by CLAS, BOUYGUES then entrusted us with the installation of the ACCROPODE™II and ECOPODE™ blocks for the protection of the southern breakwater.

    

During the construction of the ACCROPODE™II and ECOPODE™armour of the South breakwater, CLAS provided BOUYGUES with the same performance and quality as for the offshore breakwater.
