The installation of ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4 or X-bloc® blocks and in general, all the artificial blocks with strong imbrication, is not a thing easy.

The license vendors all claim that it's easy, quick and hassle-free.

No one believes this fable anymore. Just look at the extent of dismantling areas on all construction sites. Here on a single small area, several dozen ACCROPODE™II must be removed, including in the deep part, to purge non-conformities.

It is often more than 50% of the blocks that are removed and replaced, sometimes several times in the same areas.

All blocks under license are concerned, whether they are blocks ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or others.

We have been privileged witnesses to the difficulties encountered by companies and we have accompanied them on some of the most prestigious construction sites in the world to avoid major delays.

Why is it so difficult?

CLI provides an explanation in its technical document intended for contractors. Everyone thinks that the pose is good when the block is in its position as indicated on the pose plan provided by the license seller. This is false and CLI writes it in these terms:

Tolerance on block position

The actual position of each block is not checked against its theoretical position. In the slope there is no tolerance limit in relation to the target because the interlocking of the block in the line below has priority.

This is something we have known for a very long time, even before CLI wrote it in their TID. This is the reason why the structures we build resist the strongest storms, as you can see in this video of the Cerbère breakwater, of which we have installed all the ACCROPODE™II ourselves.

Don't forget that the reason why you decided to place ACCROPODE™II or X-bloc® is to earn money. To make money you have to avoid delays. When engineers ask you to dismantle several tens or hundreds of blocks because of ACCROPODE™II out of profile or badly interlocked CORELOC ™ you are wasting precious time and therefore money

CLAS provides you with a team of specialists. Our inspectors who have accompanied you for years on the construction sites of KHALIFA, RAS LAFFAN, BARAKAH, ZAKUM, CONSTANANTA, PUERTO MOIN, BEIRUT MARINA and many others, are at your disposal to place the blocks.

By calling on our specialized installation team, you will obtain peace of mind never before offered on this type of work, the guarantee of finishing your project ahead of schedule and thus increasing your profit.

From experience we know that the majority of companies want to limit their expenses. Yet they use excavators, barges, tugs. These are investments without which the project would not progress. The same goes for the CLAS placing team, it is a very profitable investment, because we cost less than late penalties, less expensive than days lost for dismantling and reassembly imposed by license sellers or engineers, when placing the blocks with less experienced teams.

Our placing team is made up of experts in the installation of ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or other blocks.

All our inspectors speak English in addition to their mother langage, they are all IMCA and HSE approved commercial divers.

We have the same people for more than twenty years, we do not recruit on classified ads. All our specialists have been recruited on site because of their skills in placing ACCROPODE , ACCROPODE II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or other blocks. They were then trained within our company and worked as inspectors and installers of ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or other blocks, all over the world.

They know how to identify non-conformities and avoid or rectify them immediately without having to dismantle dozens of blocks.

They know how to adjust a slope, quickly deposit or install rocks with a soft sling.

They know how to coordinate with the operator of the machine responsible for bringing the ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™, ECOPODE™, BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4 ou X-bloc® or other blocks into position.

Our placement rates are the highest, you will not find any other tool, any other faster team for a result approved without reservations. Companies like VAN OORD, NMDC, ARCHIRODON, BOUYGUES, GUINTOLI, BESIX, CHEC to name a few, testify to our efficiency and you can see it by following this link:

A container transportable by road, on barge, by plane, by boat. It is easily mobile by all means of transport.

The container is equipped with the latest professional diving equipment.

The diver in charge of placing the ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or other blocks is equipped with a KM97 metal helmet which effectively protects him from shocks. It is equipped with communications and HD camera. His ombilical is floating, which avoids constantly hanging it in the CCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or others, and thus avoids wasting time to clear the ombilical.

The rescue diver is equipped with a Band Mask KMB28, light, fast and easy to use, equipped with communications and an HD camera.

The 100 meter long ombilicals allow rapid intervention which limits the movement of the container on the dike and thus the loss of time, caused by ombilicals that are too short.

The diver is permanently in communication with the diving container and with the crane operator in charge of placing the ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or other blocks.

The HD cameras fitted to the helmets reflect what the diver sees in the diving container. It is thus possible to assist the diver in real time.

We have several HP and LP compressors, all maintenance and repair accessories and the container is equipped with a workshop and all the tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of our equipment.

The container is also equipped with the mandatory safety equipment.

We also have a complete back-up diving system, so that you never stop laying ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or other blocks.

CLAS is accredited by COFRAC for underwater work operations.

We are autonomous and projectable all over the world.

Here is how the installation is done in the majority of cases:

The diver visits the placement area to determine if the blocks can be placed or if rectifications of the slope and the toe berm are necessary.

If a rock can interfere with the installation it is removed, if a hole exists it is immediately filled by placing a rock in it. The diver performs these specific operations more quickly than an excavator.

The blocks of the first row are placed in stable position, more or less identical attitudes. It is not necessary to place them perfectly in the same way.

Once the first row is in place, we place the upper rows as follows:

The diver chooses the best position to quickly obtain the final interlocking of the block. This attitude depends on the appearance of the space between the blocks already laid and the appearance of the underlayment between the two blocks already placed.

Each ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or other block is brought into position using the GPS, a buoy which marks the position or with the ECHOSCOPE when visibility is reduced .

Before the block touches those of the lower row, the diver stops the movement and adjusts the final position, by acting with the rotating head, or by rotating the block in order to obtain the best position. The block is then lowered and the diver checks the following points:

- The block is in its final interlocking position and cannot descend further.

- The block is not out of profile.

- The block is not broken.

- The block is in a different position from its neighbors whenever possible.

- There is no hole that exposes the underlayer.

- the boc is well placed on the underlayer.

These rules apply to all ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or other blocks.

When a complete line is placed, the diver quickly inspects this line before setting the next line, to ensure that the spaces between the blocks are sufficient, that the blocks are in generally varied attitudes and that there are no has no obvious out off-profile. This examination is done naturally by going from the last block placed towards the safety position of the diver, on the other side of the line, so there is no loss of time because of this examination.

When a complete section comes out of the water, the diver makes an inspection of this section. A video is made perpendicular to the slope in order to highlight the correct interlocking of each block. Video is the most reliable and safest way to represent the carapace by showing reality and not just virtual digital reconstructions, sometimes different from reality.

By doing it this way, we never had to dismantle a constructed section. In the event of a dispute following the interpretation of a multibeam survey, a control with the ECHOSCOPE, a virtual representation or other, our videos restore the truth and put an end to the discussions. We thus avoid having to dismantle correctly constructed areas on the basis of erroneous interpretations or imprecise information.

Our working method and our experience, applied to all ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® or other type blocks, offers unparalleled production.

The following table gives the production observed on several projects, for an approved installation of ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™ , BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, X-bloc® blocks. We have marked in yellow the best techniques according to the visibility:

Entrusting us with the installation of your ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™, ECOPODE™, BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4 and Xbloc® armor blocks brings you increased profitability, peace of mind and safety.

We manage all aspects of the placement of the breakwater armor blocks, starting with the slope adjustment and validation of the toe berm and underlayer. The placement surface of the armor blocks is the subject of an inspection report drawn up visually and often filmed, which confirms that the grain size of the rockfill conforms to the standard sections of the project. We confirm that the roughness of the sub-layer allows the placement of the armor blocks. We draw up the inspection report.

We manage all aspects related to security. CLAS has specific equipment dedicated to laying ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™, ECOPODE™, BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4 and Xbloc® blocks.

We ensure rapid placing of all armor blocks, on and under water. Our equipment, our know-how and our continuous control procedures in real time, lead to high productions without subsequent dismantling.

We offer two formulas:

1 Complete CLAS installation team. This is the fastest solution, suitable for emergency situations.

2 Mixed team made up of two CLAS inspectors and two local divers. This is the most suitable solution for international missions.
