Assistance to breakwaters construction

This service is for companies responsible for construction.

 

1 Development of method statements and procedures taking into account the requirements of ACCROPODE ™, ACCROPODE ™ II, CORELOC ™, ECOPODE ™ and X-bloc ® technologies and the equiment available in the company.

 

2 Training of diving and non-diving personnel.

The construction of the ACCROPODE ™, ACCROPODE ™ II, CORELOC ™, ECOPODE ™ and X-bloc® block shells uses special safety rules.

We train your staff: riggers, divers, diving supervisors, supervisors, superintendents, engineers, barge supervisors and generally all staff involved in the placement and the approval of ACCROPODE ™, ACCROPODE ™ II, CORELOC ™, ECOPODE ™ and X-bloc®.


We have pedagogical tools developed during the international projects on which we have intervened: models, photos, videos that are today the most efficient and the most effective on the market.

 

The training includes three modules:


First module: Security training.


We evaluate the application of security rules before issuing the certificate of staff capacity.

Practical safety training during construction

 

All new workers on site are trained and we issue the company a personnel training certificate.

The safety procedures and the training provided are integrated into the HSE program of your project and we work in collaboration with your HSE engineer who we also train to the specificities of the works implementing the ACCROPODE ™, ACCROPODE ™ II, CORELOC ™, ECOPODE ™ and X-bloc®.

 

Second module: Training in quality.


We evaluate the capacity of the personnel to build in accordance with the criteria defined in the TID before issuing the certificate of staff capacity. This quality is sought only when the security rules are understood and applied.

Third module: Training in production.

We bring the staff to the capacity of 8 units per hour at least posed without defects. This production is only possible when knowledge of safety and quality is acquired and implemented. Depending on the visibility conditions and the equipment used, we achieved average productions of 15 blocks per hour correctly laid and approved.


The courses are taught in English.

 

3 Evaluation and optimized implementation of POSIBLOC ™, ECHOSCOPE® or other iplacement tools.
Construction support and approval tools are available to businesses. These tools have limitations that we have highlighted on many projects.


These limits when they are not known cause major disassembly or damage to the structures. CLAS inspectors assess the real capabilities of these tools and adapt construction and inspection procedures to optimize the production by meeting the acceptance criteria for the armour defined by the contractual reference documents.

4 Approval without reservation.

CLAS inspectors are present on the project full time. Each ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE ™II, CORELOC™, ECOPODE™ or X-block® block is controlled by a CLAS trained diver or technician before placing the next block. Each block line placed is checked before placing the next line. Each underwater section is checked before building out of the water.

 

 

CLAS inspectors intervene several times a day and immediately order the necessary adjustments or repairs and help your teams to proceed with them. In this way there is no major disassembly. This is also how we achieve very high production and uncompromising approval of built structures. CLAS inspectors also control the underlayer, berm and toe mount and all ACCROPODE ™, ACCROPODE ™ II, CORELOC ™, ECOPODE ™ or X-block® blocks installed.

 

 

5 Delivery of the project on time.

The importance of the controls we carry out throughout the construction and our know-how in block handling and immediate repairs saves a lot of time and significantly reduces the duration of the construction. The projects we are working on are normally delivered before the scheduled completion date.

 

6 High production at its maximum.

To place quickly and well it is necessary that your project fulfills two conditions:


1 Staff must have been properly trained both theoretically and practically. This learning cannot be done in a few days. It is a constant work that uses tools and teaching methods that CLAS inspectors have.

 

2 There must be no major and frequent disassembly. The work procedures developed by CLAS and the frequent inspections that we conduct avoid these dismantling.

These averages are based on actual placement times, repairs and inspections during installation. Shutdowns due to equipment failures are not included in this study. These figures have not changed since 2009, the date of the first comparative production calculations.
